Although the water level in the Sharda river in Lakhimpur Kheri district is not rising much, but seeing the ferocious form of the river eroding the land, panic has increased among the villagers. In Bijua area, the Devi temple near Belha Siktiha village got submerged in the river in four hours on Monday. Seeing this, the heartbeat of the villagers has increased.

The Sharda river is only ten meters away from Belha Siktiha village. The Sharda river has started eroding the land like last year, if the situation remains the same then the river will start eroding the village by Monday night. Lines of worry have spread on the foreheads of the villagers. Nepali Ram said that the villagers living in the east of the village have started taking out their belongings. It is not known at what time the river will start eroding the village.

Last year 100 acres of land was cut

Last year too, the river had eroded about 100 acres of agricultural land in Belha Siktiha. This time it seems that the village itself will not survive. Usually the erosion used to happen in September and October, but this time the erosion has started in July itself. Panic is spreading among the villagers thinking about what will happen in September and October.
